Haunted Houses, Trails & Corn Mazes

Looking for a good scare this October? South Jersey has everything from haunted hayrides and terrifying trails to nighttime corn mazes. Here are some of the spooky attractions happening around the region this month.

FOR THE BRAVE

Night of Terror at Creamy Acres

πŸ“ Night of Terror β€” Mullica Hill
πŸ“… Select Nights Through October 31

One of South Jersey's biggest Halloween attractions returns to Creamy Acres with four haunted attractions, including the famous Ride of Terror haunted hayride. For an extra adrenaline rush, Haunted Paintball is available on select nights throughout October.

HallowSpire

πŸ“ HallowSpire β€” Southampton
πŸ“… Select Nights Through November 1

Three scares in one night: take on the Jersey Devil Terror Trail, get lost among the zombies in the 13th Acre Haunted Corn Maze, and brave the Funland Forgotten Circus.

This one is geared toward people who actually want to be scared β€” HallowSpire recommends it for ages 10+ and says the current version isn't recommended for young children.

The Haunting on High Street

πŸ“ Burlington County Prison Museum β€” Mount Holly
πŸ“… October 16–17, 23–24 & 30–31
⏰ 7–10 PM

New for 2026! Head inside the historic Burlington County Prison Museum for a Halloween experience built around the phantoms and phobias haunting the halls of the more than 200-year-old prison, followed by a Halloween hangout in the courtyard with food, entertainment and more.

Fear in the Forest

πŸ“ Browns Mills / Pemberton
πŸ“… Friday, October 23 & Saturday, October 24

This isn't your typical indoor haunted house. You'll head deep into the woods for a half-mile-plus haunted trail through a working blueberry farm filled with actors, themed scenes and plenty of surprises in the darkness.

It's only open two nights this October, so plan ahead.

Miller's Haunted Farm

πŸ“ Miller Farms β€” Hammonton
πŸ“… October 2–3, 9–10, 16–17, 23–24 & 30–31

Take on The Haunted Woods, a roughly one-mile trip through multiple themed areas, along with the farm's Haunted Maze and live scare actors roaming the property.

Terror in the Junkyard

πŸ“ Scullville Fire Company's Terror In The Junkyard β€” Fleming's Junkyard, Egg Harbor Township
πŸ“… Weekends in October

There's probably no better setting for a haunt than an actual junkyard. The Scullville Volunteer Fire Company transforms Fleming's Junkyard into a Halloween attraction featuring a haunted hayride through the woods and junkyard plus the Maze of Terror.

The attraction also serves as a fundraiser for the volunteer fire company.

NOT-SO-SCARY FALL FUN

Want the Halloween atmosphere without people jumping out at you? These are the better bets.

πŸ”¦ Night Corn Maze at The Red Barn Farm

πŸ“ The Red Barn Farm β€” Hammonton
πŸ“… Fridays & Saturdays, October 2–31
⏰ 7–10 PM

Grab a flashlight and see if you can find your way through nearly 7 acres of corn after dark.

And an important distinction: this one is NOT haunted. No actors and no jump scares β€” just you, a flashlight, the dark and a lot of corn. Flashlights are provided, and there's a shorter maze available for younger kids.

Johnson's Corner Farm Corn Maze

πŸ“ Johnson's Corner Farm β€” Medford
πŸ“… Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays through October 31

For families with younger kids, Johnson's offers the classic fall-farm experience without the scares. Make your way through the corn maze and pair it with the farm's other seasonal activities for an easy October outing.

πŸ‘» WEEKENDER TIP: Haunted attraction schedules can change because of weather, and several require timed tickets. Check the attraction's website before heading out β€” especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
